Pollysam
Hi, My ex wife and myself attended court last week regarding finances. A few weeks prior, we came to an agreement and a consent order was prepared by a solicitor. This was signed by both parties. I tried a couple of times to cancel the court hearing but nothing worked. We attended court last week and the judge agreed that the order was fair and signed it off. The problem is, because i only used a solicitor for advice and not to represent me, i have to do something on the courts portal. Even the judge could not do it because nothing had been put on there in the first place. Any ideas what i need to do? Iv'e emailed the courts but not getting any replies. Any advice would be great. In most cases, once a judge approves a court order, there isn't anything further you need to do on the courts portal yourself. The court will handle the following: Finalizing the order: The court will finalize the wording and ensure everything is in accordance. Issuing the order: They will send a sealed copy of the approved order to both parties involved. However, for peace of mind you should Contact the court again: Call the court where the hearing took place and inquire about the status of your order. They can confirm if it's been finalized and when you can expect to receive a copy. Check your communication: Look for any emails or letters from the court. They may have sent updates regarding the order via these channels. If you had a solicitor they would also provide updates and next steps related to the order.
